Who we are:
Renee Aldrich, Ashlock Bullmastiffs, and Vicki Allenbrand, Blackjack Bullmastiffs, are cousins and have well over 30 years of experience with Bullmastiffs between the two of them. Renee currently resides in Spring Hill, Kansas and Vicki is in Atlanta, Georgia. We both were involved with horses when we were younger and then moved on to dogs from there. We have worked with a lot of breeds. Some of the ones that we are most familiar with, besides bullmastiffs, are Dobermans, German Shepherds, Dalmatians, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Weimaraners and Vizlas. Our first bullmastiffs, Tessa and McCloud, were littermates. We completed their championships and added obedience, agility and herding titles to their names. This began our intense desire to keep the working ability alive in our breeding program. We have both completed multiple titles in conformation, obedience and agility on our dogs, as well as, assisting other owners in training and obtaining their titles. Our passion has given us much success in the show ring and working rings achieving top honors in obedience, agility and conformation.
We believe in a strong working ability in a bullmastiff. The bullmastiff is a family dog. They should be involved in the family activities and are all housedogs. They do not do well in a "kennel" environment. We do breed on a limited basis based on a reservation list. We only breed a litter to improve the breed and for a puppy that we are personally in search of. We strive to stay within the AKC standard of the bullmastiff and still keep in mind the importance of the working ability of the dogs. Health is an important part of our breeding program. Bullmastiffs, as other breeds, can have health problems and it is a goal of ours to try to eliminate as many problems that we are able to. This does not mean that all puppies are free of health defects but that we are breeding only the healthiest dogs possible.
Renee loves the challenge of creating the perfect Bullmastiff in mind and body. She continues in her love of dog training and teaching others the joys of showing in confirmation, obedience and agility by working with her daughter and a great group of 4-Hers. Ashlock Bullmastiffs is a family affair and Renee is joined in her breeding and showing ventures by her niece Brooke Hummel Breuel and her daughter, Christa. Renee is a member of the American Bullmastiff Association, Sunshine States Bullmastiff Club and Heart of America Bullmastiff Fanciers.
Vicki has been approved by the AKC to judge Bullmastiffs and Junior Showmanship. She has been selected to judge the 2011 Bullmastiff National Specialty Sweepstakes. She also serves on the board of the Atlanta Kennel Club, one of the largest kennel clubs in the country. Vicki is a member of the American Bullmastiff Association, Sunshine States Bullmastiff Club, Southwest Bullmastiff Club and the Bullmastiff Fanciers of Canada.
